Wireless Internet Question?

Okay so I hooked up my wireless router thing(LinkSys Wireless-G) to my internet modem (DSL), I have a wireless USB flash drive along with the router, so I plug the USB into another computer that has no internet connection (no ethernet no phone line), and look for my connection. Once I find it, I have excellent signal strength, but once I connect even though it's still at excellent signal strength, it tells me Limited or No Connectivity. So I try to reset my router, modem, the program, and my computers. None of which helped.. I've tried to select the repair option, but it tells me it can't repair something but still doesn't work.
How could I fix the "Limited or No Connectivity" status to get it working to "Excellent" signal strength? Thanks In Advance.
Same thing on laptops.

well, try connecting to the wireless internet connection without the usb. if you have a somewhat newer computer, you should be able to go to internet options on your computer and connect to your wireless internet connection from your router without the need for a usb, maybe eliminating the signal strength error. if this doesn't help let me know.

To me it sounds like your router isn't getting an internet signal from your modem.
The modem connects to the internet, and the router shares that signal for your home computers.

Reset the modem first by unpluging it and/or pressing the reset button.
Next the router, unplug it and/or press reset.

Next, check the settings on the router.
Do this by "getting into" the router's interface.
The router has a web site inside it which you can use to check the internet status.

First you need to know the routers IP address.
Usually its 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.100.1

Open the Command Prompt (click start, accessories, command prompt or click start run and type "cmd")
A black window will open
Type ipconfig
You will see some information.
where it says Default Gateway is the IP address of the router.

Open internet explorer and type the IP address in the bar at the top.
This should open up the routers interface.
From here you should be able to see if the router can connect to the internet.
If it can't call the DSL company.

From there you should be able to tell whats wrong.

Is there a guest networking feature in the Linksys Simultaneous Dual N Band Router (WRT610N)?

I am going going to get two printers and a hard drive to attach to my router. I have some renters on my property that connect to my wireless network. I was wondering if the router (WRT610N) had a guest networking feature that allowed the renters to have a separate pass-code that would allow them to only access the internet and another pass-code for me to access the internet, the printers, and my hard drive. Can I find my Linksys password on my PC?

About a year ago my then-bf changed my wireless Linksys setup with a new password for security reasons (from the factory default of "admin" to something else). I just moved and plugged in the new modem and the old Linksys router. My PC automatically recognizes the Linksys router and doesn't prompt me for the new super-safe password which both I and (now ex-) bf have forgotten. My Mac, however, DOES prompt me for the new password (which, interestingly, it never did before I moved), and, as I said I have NO idea what it is. Linksys support wants to charge me $30 bucks JUST to retrieve the Mac's password. I ain't got that kinda dough lying around...

Can I somehow find out what the Linksys password is on my Vista-run PC so I can just type it into the Mac's request field? Or do I have to reset the Linksys router and reset BOTH the Mac AND the PC to get the Mac to access the router? I am freaking out because I am technically-challenged and I'm afraid I'll screw up the resetting process and am going to end up with NO wireless internet access, instead of at least having the PC able to get online. Ideas? Suggestions? Advice?

the router is located in my neighbors house which is about 75-100 feet apart!! Will the wireless N Linksys router be able to have at least 90-100% connectivity?? I had bought a wireless g netgear but did not connect very well! So therefore im thinking about buying the Linksys wireless N router!! Which one is more effecient the N OR N+?? i wil gladly appreciate it if someone can answer my question in haste amount of time! Thanks.

I have a motorola silver modem and a linksys Wireless N Home Router. My modem broke and someone told us that the router burned it up by communicating with it back and forth so much. But I got s new one and don't want to brake it either. My friends dad who works for att said the router was not the problem is was just its time to brake. Its suppose to do that every few years. So until this problem is fixed I can't get back on Live. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
