PS: keep in mind my current graphics card is onboard ATI RADEON XPRESS 200.
the power supply i bought is to the graphics card specs.
and it has the pci express slot hy wouldnt it work.?
Your computer may not support PCI-e. I'd check the support section of the website of the computer or motherboard manufacturer to see if it does.
Also, it could be that you need a stronger power supply. Some are not powerful enough to power newer video cards.

does the fan on the graphics card spin up on boot? Does your powersuppy have enough power and are the power connectors correctly installed?
Edit: Consult Compaq manual on how to install graphics card, you may need to disable the onboard graphics somehow... or your new card could be bad.
I have the Brother HL-2170w printer and a Windows 7 laptop. This laptop is my "main computer" and is connected to a wireless adapter in my dingy basement. Since my basement is, as I said, dingy, I wanted to put my printer upstairs where I do most of my work. However, the printer said it had to be connected temporarily in order to be configured to the network. I did, printed out a test page, and everything was fine. I turned off, unplugged, and moved my printer. Replugged it, turned it on, and tried to print and... of course it didn't work. It said that the printer could not be contacted through the network. I've tried different troubleshooting tips but nothing has worked so far. Help?
I have a desk computer and non-wireless HP printer and Dell laptop computer and a wirless router. my provider is Time Warner. I want to be able to print from my laptop wireless. What do I need to do.

The Pixma MG8220 uses Canon's Intelligent Touch system, which consists of a 3.5-inch, tiltable color LCD driven by contextually lit touch controls integrated into the scanner lid. When you need a function, the appropriate touch buttons light up; otherwise, they stay dark. The system looks great and works well, but perhaps more intelligent on a printer this pricey would be a front touchscreen display, which would allow space for an automatic document feeder for the letter/A4 scanner. One of the Pixma MG8220’s main rivals, the Epson Artisan 837 , comes with an ADF.
