I have a Windows Vista Home Basic laptop and when I try to find wireless networks, even with the wireless adapter on, It can't find any! I know that there is one in rage. I also can't connect to the ethernet connection! I have Ubuntu installed on my laptop and it detects the wireless and the ethernet help!
I use windows so i am not used to ubuntu but i can help. If you have your own router you would probably be better off. If you looked up on youtube and/or google you can see how to connect a router and all that. there are a lot of resources that can help you. go to the provider of your laptops's website in help and support or the ubuntu website.

I had two computers in my house, both in seperate rooms. One was connected directly to the wireless router through an ethernet cable, and the second was using a Belkin Wireless G Network Adapter. I have gotten rid of the computer that was connected directly using the ethernet cable, and don't want to move the other computer. Is there a way I can just leave the Modem and Router in the seperate room, and still have the computer connect to the router using the Network Adapter? I have always been able to connect to the wireless network, but now it doesn't even register that there are any wireless networks available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I guess I messed up what is going on. The computer that was using the wireless network adapter is now gone, and the computer that was connected directly is the computer we are trying to use the network adapter on now. Could that be the problem? If the computer isn't set up for wireless, will it not register?
I just bought a wireless n adapter for my 360. I'm try to set it up but it won't connect to the internet. it connects to the network, it just won't actually connect to the internet or xbox live. my internet is working perfectly fine and it has full signal strength. what can I do to fix this?

I use a wireless USB adapter to connect my main computer to the internet through my wireless router. I also hooked up a 2nd computer to the same wireless router with another USB adaptor with no problems. I am trying to hook up a 3rd computer the same way but am running into problems. It is to the point where it says I'm connected to my wireless network with maximum signal strength but I'm still not getting any access to the internet. I use Internet Explorer if that makes a difference. I am not trying to hook them all together for file sharing or LAN parties, I just want to be able to access the internet on all the computers. The computer with problems is running Windows XP and is up to date.
Potential causes and/or solutions would be appreciated.
I was recently installing a bunch of windows updates (they were legit) on my other computer, and after one restart, my internet no longer worked. I found that this was because for whatever reason, my wireless network adapter does not meet the "Windows Flag/Logo/Whatever it is Test", which was not a problem before the updates. Whenever I try reinstalling the driver software (from a usb, I lost the disk ages ago), there is always a problem with the setup, although the driver does save to my computer. I'd love it if someone could tell me what to do to fix my internet.
As far as I can tell and the computer tells me, the software for the usb adapter is completely installed, yet it does not work.

Well, I do not know what to take seriously, it will not be set up on my computer, so I went back and requested a refund from Amazon. Rating: 5.
