dir-655 or dir-615? - dlink routers?

i have decided to switch to wireless N for better wireless range. does dir-655 has a better range since it is more expensive, or is it just expensive because it supports higher transfer rate for LAN only? both are wireless N. i need to know which can give me a better range. if it provides the same wireless range, im obviously going with dir-615 since it costs half the price. thanx

i am using wireless G d-link dir 300 right now, and i wanted to increase the range of my wifi. should i buy an antenna booster or should i replace the router with a wireless N d-link dir 615 instead? both costs the same. i do know antenna's are old school though. i wna know which one can give me a better range.

How to setup a home network, using a wireless router, between two PC having 2 different operating systems?

Ok, I am new to wireless networking! I have an ADSL broadband connection at home. Now, recently I got a Belkin N Wireless Router which came with a wireless USB adaptor.

I have a laptop (Windows 7) with inbuilt WLAN and an old desktop PC (Windows XP - sp2) between which I need to make a wireless home network. I want to share video files, movies, pics along with my ADSL Broadband connection between the 2 PC s.

I also want to use both the PCs on wireless basis, without using a wired connection. Is it possible? I can use the USB adaptor on the desktop PC since my laptop has WLAN.

Should there be a "Server" created on either of the PCs, is it compulsory? My main PC will be the laptop.
How do I share files between the 2 PCs (they have different OS)?
How do I restrict others' unauthorised access to my ADSL connection? Where exactly can I find these settings? I have no good knowledge on this.

Also, any links to good online resources will be admired.

Should I purchase the XBOX 360 wireless N adapter?

I just recently moved and now I don't have my computer in my room. I mean I can always set up the XBOX Arcade outside of my room but I'd rather not. I've always heard bad things of the adapters that are out there. So that leaves me to wonder:

-What are some of the problems?

-Will it work with Verizon FIOS Actiontec MI424WR router? If so will it have some problems? I heard that the wireless N adapter works best With N routers. Is my router an N router?

The XBOX 360 Arcade is placed about 80-100 ft away from the router as well.

Thank you for your time.

TRENDnet Delivers First 450 Mbps Dual-Band Wireless N HD Media Bridge

TRENDnet has launched the first-to-market 450 Mbps Dual Band Wireless N HD Media Bridge, a device that can work with a complementary router to extend a home network and deliver what TRENDnet states is, "a whole-home 450 Mbps wireless network."

With this new piece of networking hardware, model TEW-680MB, users can connect up to four media devices in a home theatre or entertainment system (even away from the room where the router resides) including media players, gaming consoles, Internet TVs, Network Video Recorders, or IP cameras. Those devices can take advantage of the 450 Mbps if the media bridge is connected to a 450-Mbps router, like TRENDnet's 450 Mbps Concurrent Dual Band Wireless N Router (TEW-692GR) . If the bridge is connected to a 300 Mbps router, then that would be the maximum highest potential throughput.
