Belkin wireless adapter. "usb adapter not found"?

I just bout a wireless router and i'm trying to set up a computer in another room to connect to it using a belkin N+ wireless adapter. I didn't have the software on me so i Downloaded it from the website. The install seemed to be going well till it asked me to plug the adapter in. I did and it sat there.....for a while. Then it spat this out at me "usb adapter not found" is there anything i can do here short of buying a new adapter?
I have a usb mouse and keyboard that work in all the ports. I've tried pluging the adapter in all of these ports with no success
so I downloaded the install off the website agian. sadly i was met with the same result. no luck

Have you tried another usb port ? ~

Edit : Then the software did not install correctly, confirm you got the right software, and do another install.

netgear wnr2000 wireless n router?

so, I am going to buy Netgear WNR2000 wireless-N router

thanks in advance for the help

Any way to have 2 xbox 360's share 1 wireless network adapter?

I own 2 separate xbox 360 consoles. I only have one wireless network adapter (the "N" adapter). Is there any way possible to have both of them share the one adapter? They are sitting next to each other, side by side. Would it be possible to hook up a USB splitter and connect them both at the same time so that they can both connect to the Internet?

What netbook would you pick? Look at the detailed specs?

Here are some factors that are affecting my decision:

Use: Surfing web and writing lab reports for college
Weight: Nothing more than 4 lbs
Screen: Must be above 10'', and no TrueLife, or GLOSSY SCREEN AT ALL! I bought a labtop with a glossy screen and I HATE it, cannot use it except for in dark, dark rooms. I want to be able to watch a movie with the sun at my back.
Battery Life: 8+ hours on normal use, watching movies on youtube or writing reports.
Keyboard: I have big hands, and want something nice

Do netbooks have a CD drive? I have ways around this (.iso files), but am not going to buy a $50 dollar extension.

My first pick, except for the battery life.

This looks awesome, but cannot change specs. I want LONGER battery life, 8+ on regular use. I'm assuming I will have to get a 6 cell Li-ion battery, what will this cost? Will it increase the battery life, from 4.8 hours to 9.6 hours (2x as much?). Is this the battery I can buy:

Best wireless router for a G usb wireless adapter adapter?

Which wireless router would give greater speed and strength to my G usb wireless adapter on my desktop. I have a N wireless router on right now but it is kind of slow, would the super g wirless router work better with the G wi-fi receiver as both of them are G's or it doesn't make a difference? I have a ATT gateway before and seemed faster than now.
