I have used Windows XP 64 bit for about 2 years with no problems but recently I installed Windows 7 64 bit and seems to work fine until I start using my internet heavily. After I play an online game for about 5 minutes or open about 20 youtube videos it will disconnect for about 10 to 20 minutes and then just reconnects itself.Otherwise it is fine. I am not using a router, it's plugged directly into my modem which has no wireless capabilities. I did a network diagnostics, got the yellow triangle icon, it said DNS Server not found but I fixed that and it doesn't say it anymore. I have turned off all the power saving options on in the control panel and Power Management from clicking on the propterties of my network adapter in the device manager. I have tried downloading and installing the network adapter drivers directly from Realtek. I have vewed the hidden devices in my device manger and have tried unintalling the Microsoft 6to4 Adapter and others. I have tried refreshing my IP.I have tried disabling my firewall completely. I have also updated my Windows and did a scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. I have been using the same internet service provider for about 3 years using the same modem with no problems until I started using Win7 64bit.Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think it is worth it but if you use it for intense stuff like gaming then get a better processor and video card
George Bush | May 05, 2010
I personnally dun think so . Try to look for Samsung new series laptop at Bestbuy , decent processor , i5 or i7 I'm not sure , and decent graphic card for better gaming and better HD movies. The color is black and red , looks damn nice
YoYoYO | May 05, 2010
Its all on What Your Gonna do with it. probaly with this laptop, all you can do is mid gaming, and mainly probaly for school/work. if you wanna go gaming, go on www.ibuypower.com or www.cyberpowerpc.com, there you can make your custom laptop or computer.
Joe | May 05, 2010
Seems alright to me. The Blu-Ray/DVD combo drive usually runs $200 alone. And the RAM probably costs about a fourth of the total price.
Nothgrin | May 05, 2010
That is an excellent laptop if you don't plan on gaming. If you do you don't have a dedicated video card for gaming. You merely have an integrated one (integrated in the mother board; which is standard if you aren't gaming). Also, if you are gaming, a faster processor will be needed
S Z | May 05, 2010
unless you really need the blu ray drive no. You can get those specs for about $600 with this:
for that price you should get like a core i5 or something.

850 Dollars For A Toshiba? Heck No!
First of all we will look at the most important and expensive part of your computer, the processor. An i3 is a fantastic new processor but with some searching I would make the time investment to find an i5 or i7, way faster, better cards.
Blu-Ray? Who even uses that?
My suggestion is that you go and search for a computer for maybe 500 dollars with a better brand name such as HP or Sony. With maybe 2GB ram and a 200GB hard drive. Make sure its a i5 or i7 and get the RAM and HD updated to your liking, it will cost around the same price as the Toshiba but you don't sacrifice brand, processor, and overall satisfaction.

Running an HP Pavilion ze1115 with Ubuntu 9.10. No problems seeing other networks - secured and unsecured. Checked the router settings - everything normal - all other wireless PC's up and running in seconds. Using this as a generic house PC - could be too much old BS trying to communicate and work together. I'm sure it's also Microsoft's fault somehow. Been to Linksys and Belkin's sites and submitted questions and wandered through the Support sections as well.

TiVo Wireless Adapter 802.11n N Wireless: Search second
Last week, I shared with you the slip 802.11n their TiVo, based in New WiFi adapter for their dual tuner DVR and TiVo HD including TiVo and New Debut. I then said to me that I was ruminating this card more expensive, but I still wanted to test to see how much of a reform, it was the most basic 802.11g. I was absolutely surprised by what I saw when I opened the package.
There is nothing like the old map
Do not let the court jester and view photos you. The memories that I justify this new map has been more price was right it looked like the old, and so I thought it connected to the USB port as the old. It does not! This new card is a new branch and form as opposed to connecting via USB, it connects to your Ethernet port on TiVo. You also promote the sector to get the power of the. Indeed there is nothing limited TiVo about this new card.It is justified as any other function 802.11n wireless Ethernet Span. Distant old adapter you can even configure it from the HD TiVo. You need to either use your computer or you need a wireless router that has a WPS button. Although my router has the TRENDnet New WPS button, I opted for the well deserved anon configure by plugging it into my MacBook Pro via Ethernet. Setup was decent music forward and once I was done I connected my TiVo HD and it worked perfectly!...

Last week I shared with you TiVo's bulletin of their NEW 802.11n based WiFi adapter for their Dual Tuner DVRs including the TiVo HD and New TiVo Opening night. I said then I that I trifle this adapter was over priced, but I still wanted to study it to see how much of an change for the better it was over the 802.11g based one. I was wholly surprised by what I saw when I opened the carton.
It's nothing like the old adapter
Don't let the diagram and pictures Punch you. The point that I memory that the new adapter was over priced was that it looked only like the old one and therefore I figured it connected to the USB refuge like the old one. It doesn't! This NEW Adapter is a altogether new map and in lieu of of connecting via USB it connects to your TiVo's Ethernet refuge. You also have to publicize it into the AC to get power to it. Really there is nothing TiVo specified about this new adapter. It's honest like any other Ethernet based 802.11n Wireless Connexion. Divergent from the old adapter you can't even configure it from the TiVo HD. You either have to use your computer or you have to have a wireless router that has a WPS button. Although my New TRENDnet router does have the WPS button, I opted to unbiased configure it soon by plugging into my MacBook Pro via Ethernet. Configuring it was lovely untangle disrespectful and once I was done I plugged it into my TiVo HD and it worked very!
