OK bear with me, i'll explain it as simply as i can.
Few weeks ago, i switched to verizon fios. The installer got rid of our cable modem and gave us their modem and router all in 1. Before that i had a linksys router and everything worked perfectly. So, here is the problem. I connected all my wireless goods to the verizon modem and router, it works good. Then i decided to connect my desktop PC down in the basement to the verizon router using a usb adapter that allows you to connect PC to MAIN PC (the verizon modem/router hooked up one).
It says it is all connected, Signal strength good, status conneceted,ETC. Then, when i launch my internet browser it pops up with the screen saying not connected. It does not make sense!!
So, i got my linksys router back and hooked that up with the verizon modem and didnt use the router part of it. Did the same thing and this time i tried my ps3 and xbox saying its connected then when i test connection it says it failed at the internet connection step. It is so annoying!! So please tell me what i am doing wrong either its the linksys router or whatever.
P.S,
This is how i setup my linksys router to the verizon 2 in one router and modem:
1. took the ethernet cable out of the verizon modem.
2. took the end i unplugged and put it in the ethenet jack in the linksys
3. got a ethernet cable and hooked it in the internet jack in the linksys
4. put the other end into the jack i unplugged in step 1

Do you have a router?

To use the wireless adapter and connect wireless you have to install a router and set up your network.
If you have a DSL or cable modem then you would connect the router to the modem install the software for the router and the instructions will come with the router for setting up the secured net work etc. Also to use the wireless G adapter you need to install the software that comes with the adapter.

Running an HP Pavilion ze1115 with Ubuntu 9.10. No problems seeing other networks - secured and unsecured. Checked the router settings - everything normal - all other wireless PC's up and running in seconds. Using this as a generic house PC - could be too much old BS trying to communicate and work together. I'm sure it's also Microsoft's fault somehow. Been to Linksys and Belkin's sites and submitted questions and wandered through the Support sections as well.

Ok I really need help with my wireless! Ok Ill start from the top! I got my computer just over a year ago and near the end of the 1 year warranty my computer started messing up! So I sent it to get fixed and I got it back and everything is working fine! Accept for my wireless oh and its more laggy when I boot it up but w/e! I tried using what I had before what was BELKIN wireless G usb network adapter! and everything was going fine till I went to connect to my network! I would get "error 223" and it kept saying!
"ERROR 223"
"try the following:
1) Make sure your security key is entered correctly
2) Make sure your wireless router is within range of your adapter"
I tried for like an hour to get it working but no dice! So I went out and got a wireless card and popped it in made sure its in right then did the setup! And low and behold Im getting the same error! I tried turning off my firewall, calling where I got my computer for support and I googled "error 233" and I got nothing!
I could really use help on this! Oh and if it helps my wireless card is a linksys N ultra wireless card and the model is WMP600N! plz plz PLZ help me!

Hi, im not rly a computer person so i'm rly confused with the new:
D-Link Rangebooster N Dual Band Router and
Linksys wireless-G USB Adapter i bought.
I've connected the router to my desktop and the internet on my desktop is working fine..
but when i try to install the adapter to my desktop...it doesnt get installed properly..
and i tried to install it like over 10times already...T^T
what's the problem here? is there something that's not letting me install the adpater? or
is it because I'm using a "N wireless router" and a "G USB adapter" together??
sorry...these questions might sound stupid..but i'm rly confused and don't understand anything about these things...please help..T^T
thank you for your time and consideration =)

Netgear N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR4500
23.05.12
Negear's N900 Wireless Dual band Gigabit Router is the latest in a recent lineup of impressive dual-band routers from Netgear such as the Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700) and the N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR4000) . The N900 is bigger than either of its predecessors, supports 450 Mbps on both bands (Netgear's first router to market to do so), has dual USB ports and a CD-less setup. The best enhancement of all is that the upgraded hardware makes throughput at the 2.4 GHz band almost twice as fast as that of the N750. This is great news, since so many wireless devices, like iPhones, iPods, e-readers, and so on can only connect wirelessly at 2.4 GHz.

Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter A/B/G Networks Only « Tumbleweed

Yes, I agree with other reviewers here, this ingredient is on the upscale side. But I consider that it is quality because the value of Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter is carefree and undemanding to invest to develop. In short, it works and I do not agree to pay for something remarkable works as intended without Hassels.
To put in place, you have completely off the boost USB USB in the shelter at the back of the Xbox 360. This adapter snaps into real estate network so that it does not move and the radio is the best in disarray enough prevention. An objective very insightful.
Software set up was easy.In my position, it was inevitable after years a menu choice. I had an awareness that there would be unmanageable because I am using an Apple Airport. But, no problems at all....
What Internet PC wireless card to buy if I have a Linksys router ...
by admin
No you do not necessarliy have to buy the same variety of wireless adapter for your computer. There are many options you can buy. I employ you are using a desktop computer and the wireless router is in your assembly. You can either get a liable act to pay no heed into your motherboard or you can get a USB adapter. Typically a USB adapter is the easier method but a barely more valuable. But you can easy as pie deliver the USB adapter from one computer to another, so for the undistinguished PC buyer I would subscribe to buying a USB adapter and also a USB height so you can place the adapter to get the finest signal.
If you have a Laptop you either have a PCMIA or an Fast Assignment you can get a wireless condolence card that can slide into that position, or you can use the same USB you would get for the desktop.
