Got a fairly new (<6 Months) Officejet 8500 Wireless Printer...
Everything was fine until it randomly came up with "Paper Jam - Clear paper jam, then press OK".
I have have all the doors and compartments open, cleaned all of the rollers and give it a good old blow and soft shake... and.. NOTHING!
There is no paper jam, no little bits stuck or anything.... My whole work has come to a stand still because of this issue..
I have just updated the firmware and still nothing....
Any tips / suggestions / help much appreciated! :)
ps- i dont want sarcastic answers such as "HP are crap" or "get a new printer"....
Well, the idea of getting a new printer is not a sarcastic one.. especially if the printer is faulty and reporting a false paper jam. This is a case where HP should replace the printer.
Now... it is an HP, and it is fairly new. Have you contacted HP about it yet? If you have not, then why not? Doesn't it seem logical to contact them to inquire of the manufacturer what they suggest you do? They might tell you that this is something they have seen happen all too often, and they might offer a free replacement and upgrade to a better model without this issue. However, you will never know until you actually DO call them.
end of line

there is a tiny little switch that can get stuck (which indicates to the printer a jam) my advice is to take the back panel off the printer (if you can, as most can) and see if there is any tiny pieces of paper stuck in there, flip open the top (when off) and see if there is anything stuck in any of the rollers, or if you can see any little plastic bars/switch's and try moving them slightly or tapping on them.
also if your using paper that has been through a photo copier or a laser printer, throw it away and get some new paper, as that paper has toner on it which tends to jam.
put in only 10 sheets and see if the same thing happens, usually printers can only take up about 1cm thickness of paper. try blowing down the papers edges to separate them and them putting them in.
try printing a blanc paper. change the paper type to 'transparency film' and put it on the highest resolution on the printer (ignore any warnings about slow printing) and print out a blanc, this should come out very slowly through the printer and might dislodge anything that is stuck or might fix the problem.
Edit_
if no solution, you can take it back as it's still under warrenty, for a repair.

God knows why, I don't need one, but it is something about Steve Jobs or maybe it's just Apple, but something is telling me to buy an Ipad. I do not need one, I am in no financial position to justify such expenditure and I have already got a Laptop. Furthermore, I am fully aware that in less than a year they are going to release another one with an significant upgrade, cheaper price and longer battery life and make the one I possibly own obsolete. Maybe it's some crazy subliminal hypnosis Apple use, I don't know.
Anyways, there are a few key things I want to know. Key things that would decide whether I actually get one or not. Here they are and I hope you can answer.
Word Processing and printing: I want to be able to type up up files and print them of wirelessly. I have a wireless HP Photosmart printer and I can print photos from my Ipod touch wirelessly, can I do the same with Ipad but for word processing documents?
Windows compatability: I want to be able to transfer, edit and store word documents on this thing. Is that possible and how easy is it to do?
3G Access: They have these sims, but what counts in the allowances? Is it downloads, surfing time etc? Do you need a contract and what is the cheapest you can get?
Is it just an giant Iphone? Looking at the interface, it is the same as the Iphone. Same default apps and options. I mean, it does not look like an replacement laptop (what I am looking for) as I see no word processing program, photo editing on it as default.
Backward compatability with apps. Would my Ipod Touch apps be able to work on the Ipad? Do I have to pay for them again? As much information on this would be much appreaciated.
So yeah, thatnks for reading. Sorry for the long unecesary intro and possible bad grammer.
Many thanks in advance.

We will be working in a small office on a part time basis. I have a HP notebook with built-in wireless capability. I need to be able to print to a wireless HP printer. I will be using the new 4G service here in Houston provided by clear. The service is via a USB device that plugs directly into the notebook. There is no router. thanks, Pat
I just found this article on HP regarding creating an Ad Hoc (peer to peer) network.
Any reason that this would not work?

Finding Drivers For HP's Officejet 6000 Wireless Printer
Now, if you bought a good detail the construction of the new HP Officejet 6000 Wireless, there is no doubt provided with a disc packed with the driver installed. However, if for a purpose, you cursed or picked Officejet 6000 Printer Wireless hand-me-down and without the pilots, this article you will find rats where pilots practiced.
First, try the manufacturer's website. Most computer peripherals outside drivers of goods can be found immediately on the website of the manufacturer. So let's stop this. First, go to HP.com, then on the top of the front near the center of our contemporaries to click where it says, "tolerating and drivers' side, we are more and more drivers choose" Download and software (and firmware) "and click on options to resolve this point on it. So where it says," Make a branch name / calculate ", like" Officejet 6000 Wireless "and click" Go. "Now we see a box where it lists the most popular computer operating systems. Windows XP, Windows Vista and the new Windows 7 of them. Assuming you're affected by what operating system you have, find your operating system and click on it.(If you do not know, it is explained how to find what operating system you continued below) You will now see a list of drivers. My incentive is to choose the action full software and driver. You have the choice of phrasing English only adaptation or more languages. On the one you covet....
