Should i get an iPad when i have a macbook and iphone? (Read on)?

Okay i have an iPhone and a white macbook that i use both a lot. I mainly use my macbook connected to my TV with a wireless apple keyboard and mouse. I want an iPad but my parents are worried I will not use it or will stop using something else. I think i would use it as i have a low amount of memory left on my iPhone and think it would be good to use for college when i start in september without having to take my expensive macbook with me. I have the money and can afford it, it will be the last gadget i will be able to buy for a while as im soon going to save for a car. So should i get one and also how do u think i will use it also. Thanks.

Hp Touchsmart vs Imac 27'' ?

I'm going to be honest. Being an engineering student, I want something great for school. However, more importantly, I just want some entertainment. I'm not a huge gamer or anything like that, but I appreciate cool features that both offer.

Apple make quality products as I have seen and used them up close, though I don't have one. My mom is almost insistent on my getting the Imac 27'' (dual core).

Although the touchsmart by HP has some features I find impressive and usable, like TV-tuner, touch, blue-ray, remote, wireless keyboard and mouse (which imac also has).

I don't know man. On the basis of quality, and just overall entertainment options, what do you guys think. I'm not poor, but I'm not rich either so I can't afford to empty my bank account on a poor choice.
