The Tucson Padres will broadcast the rest of this season's games in Spanish, the team announced Tuesday.
"We are thrilled to have our home games airing on Radio Vida 1210 AM," said Padres GM Mike Feder,
The Spanish broadcast team will include Jaime Cardenas and Jose Luis Olmos, according to a Padres press release. The team's director of Hispanic marketing, Francisco Gamez, will also provide analysis on the air.
Cardenas called the play-by-play for Triple-A games in Tucson in 2003 for the Sidewinders, working with Juan Cordova. Olmos has been heard on the Tucson airwaves since 1988, formerly overseeing the news and sports on Radio la Ponderosa and Radio Fiesta 1600 AM. Gamez played professional baseball in the Brewers organization for six seasons and has also pitched professionally in Mexico.
