currently in the chest of my car i have 2 12" subwoofers (2ohm) pioneer premier. but the box weighs over 100 pounds im looking to move down to 1 12" subwoofer possibly a 4 ohm is the difference gonna be huge if i down grade.
meaning base quality inside the car, im not talking about shaking the ground.

I think about the problem is most people getting into the hobby focus simply on subs and an amp and leave their front speakers store, or buy some cheap aftermarket speakers with no amp.
If you have a nice front stage not only does a good sub set up improve the sound prominence, but it is necessary to complete the system.
I have a ported 12" in my trunk getting 1000w rms, but my front stage keeps up w/o a dilemma. It gets 500w rms, 250w per side.
Also, a lot of beginners think the sub should be loud at all times and that's not how it should work at all. A good subwoofer set up only produces practical below 100hz or so. My low pass filter is set at around 70. Everything above that -- which is well over 90% of the audible frequency range is, or at least should be - handled by the other speakers in the system.
So I indigence a subwoofer for my car. These look good as I need a high power 10" from Halfords (I requisite them to fit it as I have no idea what I'm doing) and preferablly a built in amp to save money on buying a seperate one.

What do people judge devise of these? Are there any better/cheaper I should consider? As I said, I really would like them from halfords as I need them to fit it but if there are much better deals else where and test better etc I would consider that.

I'm everything considered buying a 2000 taurus, and it has the automatic climate control system. I have found adapter kits for the manual controls, such as jam from crutchfield.com. Everyone tells me that there's no adapter kits for the automatic controls. I was thinking of slicing up a rca cable and wiring the minimal wires to a speaker, then running the other end to the amp, and just going from there. Is there another way? My friend mentioned a black box, that supposedly lets you collar up a sub and amp to a stock system?
