I have a toyota 4shoot. I have an alpine radio with a 6 disc changer in the back with a amp and a sub. The amp, sub, and disc changer is in the back. When i turn on my radio it turns on but nothing plays. Also my cd changer in the back doesn't resort to b advert to on. I have checked all the fuses and everything. I cant figure it out. Do you have any idea of what it could be, or anything I could check?
I am installing an Alpine CDA-9883 headunit into my 2004 Honda Civic, making all the connections myself. When I plugged it in to study my wiring job before connecting the speaker wires, it didn't work. My bf figured out why: I had connected the RADIO's 12v constant wire to a tub-thumper wire. He found the correct one and connected them via aligator clips to test it, plugged in the thing again and it turned on! So I was very off the deep end to finish the job, connect all the speakers, and use it only to be disappointed because it didn't work at for me again. Testing the wires again, I found something that seems fishy-
the 12v invariable is barely fluctuating under a volt on the meter.
Everything in the car still works fine, including the interior lights with no key in. I don't cogitate on my problem is anything besides this wire, and I don't know why it was working before for my bf. The ignition wire reads over 12v when I turn the key to accessory. So did I only pull the constant wire too hard or something and it's loose now? What the heck did I do?
Please help! I've been working on this all day and was feeling very proud of myself until now. :P
