Why wont my laptop play dvds? Read Below?

I got a aid hand windows xp laptop for christmas and when i tried to play a dvd it said something bout screen Dauntlessness tried that didn't work so i took it to a pc repairs shop the man told me to load codecs to the computer (Using windows media player 11 and have tried with interactial player too by the way) but now the howler message windows media player canot play this dvd because there is a problem with digtel copy protection between your dvd ambition, decoder and video card. try installing update driver for video card.

It says on the front of the apartment were you put the disc dvd and muti recorder

PLEASE HELP ME ALL I WANT IS TO PLAY ALL DVDS AND OTHER TYPES OF MEDIA

Has anyone ever had a good experience with a DVD recorder?

I got one of the higher rated models for Christmas and had to send it back. It was the Toshiba DR-420. In theory, it should've been superlative to meet my needs, but it had the following problems:
1. Defective audio, sound was muffled and distorted upon playback of commercial discs
2. Upconvert of spitting image was poor quality. The picture was grainy and the colors did not look correct.
3. I was unable to adjust the quality ratio in recording mode.

I know I could get a new one that would have the sound working normally, but I decided not to even bother. The paint quality is worse than my current $40 upconvert DVD player and the lack of ability to set the aspect ratio is frustrating.

And this was one of the higher rated models. It seems like buying a DVD recorder to act as a characterize of digital-format alternative VCR is a complete disaster. Has anyone had a good experience?

Digital TV Tuner on DVD Recorder?

A while ago, we purchased a Magnavox DVD Recorder/VHS Player pattern number ZV420MW8. It came with a paper that said it had a built-in digital TV tuner, so it would be digital ready (as eat one's heart out as it was hooked up to a proper TV antenna) and you could watch digital television after the transition back in February/June 2009. Is there one in point of fact in it, because I have never found a place to plug an antenna in or an area in the instruction manual talking about it.

How do you turn off Simplink feature on LG DVD recorder and Blu Ray player?

I have justifiable got an LG BD350 blu Ray player, and while happy with it it has the very annoying thing of switching on the DVD player, an LG DRT389H. Yes, the remotes are the same, save for different colour buttons, and I separate the LG uses the Simplink function so you can control some features from one remote.
I have turned off Simplink on the TV (also LG), but no effect. While either implausible for DVD or BluRay will switch on both machines, and open/close disc tray at the same time, or menu will direct on both disc menus, other functions are OK - eg if I press setup menu on one, the other isn't affected. Or play only plays one.
While it won't be a big problem (I wouldn't expect) since I can always just unplug blu ray when not in use, it could be a bit of a hassle - for instance today I plan on watching a BluRay film, but at the same period I need to record a film for hubby. I was planning to do both at same time, but I don't know if I could.
Is there a way to turn off the Simplink purpose on the DVD/Blu Ray? I have looked in the menu, but can't find anything. The manuals aren't that great either, just says about Simplink connection between constituent and TV, not other players.

Can this DVD player/recorder play all DVD regions?
