@ towney007: I agree with you about that; however, still, to increase success in Springfield I believe that Springfield ought to pursue a course that involves maximizing its natural assets: its "close to everything" location; its rivers; its family fun sites; its museums (including the Hoop Hall;) its parks; its colleges; and its hospitals. There's a lot already here.
Chattanooga, TN, effectively put itself on the map again during this last decade by tearing down poorly planned structures that blocked their riverfront, and turning it into a carnivalesque atmosphere that is easy to access from downtown... In my opinion, Springfield would do its future and present a big favor by pursuing that course rather than a city casino.
