What is the best buy: Xbox 360 Arcade, Elite, or Slim?

Please answer this based on the efficiency of the consoles. Use the following info.

I've been eyeballing and Xbox for some time now and the new Slim came out. Now my only concerns for the Slim are the possible problems that can occur. I watched a video that showed the Slim ruining a disk because the guy moved the console. Then there are many who are concerned about its size and the possibility of a red ring of death.

I'm not really sure what separates the Elite from the Arcade, but I think it has something to do with memory. So if someone can tell me the differences I would appreciate it.

Finally I'd like to know about WiFi. I know the Slim has it built in but what would I have to do to get WiFi if i got an Elite or Arcade?
I want to get the most out of an Xbox without a ton of problems.

Get the elite console it has a 120 gb hard drive which is big enough. But if you want wifi you would have to get the network adapter but im scared to get the 360 slim because of the problems people have been reporting

First off let me get started by saying that an Arcade is already off your list. They "Red Ring Of Death" Extremely easily, Don't come with a hard drive ( Trust me You need one) And Also do not come with any else ( Ethernet Cord, Headset, Etc) other than the required cables.

Moving on, most videos made to bash the New Xbox Slim, are made by "FanBoys" or other generalized users who don't like the system. However, Microsoft always has advised against Moving the console while in use, as of course the disk is going to move around a bit, and this applies to all consoles, not just the slim. I personally haven't heard of any other problems with it, other than the Built in Wi-Fi causing Internet problems. Microsoft also stated that the possibility of of a slim getting the red rings, is now impossible as the red lights have now been removed, and the original hardware failure was addressed and fixed.

Regarding the Wi-Fi on the Slim, Although it seems convenient, and I'll admit it is, It can often lead to "Lag" during Games, depending on your Internet Speed. Because of this, I usually advise running an Ethernet cord from the Xbox to your router for better connection, However, this does not Guarantee against Internet lag.

In regards to how An Elite would connect to the Internet (Xbox Live), their are 2 possible ways.

1. connecting an Ethernet cord from your xbox to your Router.
2.Purchasing a Wireless adaptor (Usually $50) that would connect to your router, much like the slim, But once again, Is often laggy, and Inadvisable.

In the end, It is up to you on whether you want the Elite, or the Slim (Don't go for Arcade) and how it suits your needs, Hope this answered most if not all of your questions.

if your the type of person to play more then 8 hours then probably the slim but if not the Elite not the arcade since its just an xbox and cables that it needs thats it the slim may have problems not anything huge and all xbox's scratch disks when i got my Pro i scratched my Halo 3 i got and you have a year warranty on the slim so you should do fine as long as you try not to play like a full 24 or probably 12 hours without turning it off

OK so, I have one of the old Xbox 360 Elite's which I purchased the day they first came out in 2007. I bought it in Canada and then moved to the UK (for my mom) and now I was just wondering, my warranty with the console ran out like this year I think, if it "dies" on me can I still get it fixed from the Canadian Microsoft headquarters or the European one? and If I do get it fixed from the European one will they leave the Xbox's region code to 1?

Does anyone want to buy a Modern Warfare 2 edition of The XBOX 360 for $300?

Xbox 360 Freezing Help?

I've had my Xbox 360 Elite Console now for 2-3 years. The other night it froze and showed three red rings after 30 mins of playing. I turned it off and back on same thing happend within 5 mins. Tonight I got back on it and it froze three more times but without the red rings. Its receiving plenty of air flow. Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I need to buy a new 360?
No its not under warrenty.

Everytime I try to google it, it just comes up with stupid microsoft pr about how the accessories are all backwards compatible (conveniently saving the old hard drives and memory units for asterix comments on most sites). Even the xbox website avoids answering this question like the plague (which leads me to believe that this is not a feature anymore).

So, does anyone actually have the new xbox and have they tried to play old xbox games?

I have a Xbox 360 Elite that I want to sell. It comes with the console, two controllers, HDMI cable, component and composite cables, a Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter, and five games (Modern Warfare 2, Naruto Rise of a Ninja, Forza Motorsport 2, Halo 3, Crackdown).

How much money can I get if I sell all of those items?

Find out how much you wanna sell your used Xbox360 Elite, and add it with the amount of five used games and one used Xbox controller.

I'd buy it for $250-$300, but that's just me. I bet people are selling similar stuff on eBay for around that price.
