Alternator RPM problem?

1987 Marine Trader Widebody with 275 Lrehman diesels. The tach on the port engine does not become energized until the rpm's hit about 2000. Then it bounces up and down when the rpm;s are dropped to cruising speed of about 1800. After a couple of minutes it stabilizes. Where is the resistance.

What are the shift points for a 2001 Monte carlo LS?

I am wondering if I am having tranny problems because my Tach won't drop back to 2K cruising at 70 mph on flat road.

shift points will vary with throttle position,but lockup should occur at a constant speed over 45 mph.it feels like an extra "shift" it could be that the converter isnt locking up.thisis what i tihkn it is.it could be anything from a bad computer to a faulty lockup solenoid,to a broken wire.

replaced slave cylinder in 04 saturn vue,connected everything back up,now engine won't turn over?

engine sounds like it is trying to start but it wont turn over. a light is on in the tach cluster on the bottom right side. i don't know what the light means or is referring to.waiting on haynes manuel to come in the mail/parts stores didn't carry it.

Engine turns off when coming to stop!!?

I have a 1992 Eagle Talon 2.0L Manual Transmission

About 30% of the time when coming to a stop, or slowing down to turn, the engine turns off, radio keeps playing, but the engine quits. Happens most often when slowing down from sort of high rpms. the neddle on the tach just keeps dropping until the engine quits (no stutter in idle) Again only happens about 30% of time.

This problem just started right after my speedometer and odometer stopped working. Could these problems relate to each other. The spedometer/odometer dosen't work 100% of the time, so I don't understand why the engine quits only 30% of the time.
Also once the speedometer stopped working i opened the hood to see that one of the two wires that runs to the negative terminal was unhooked. I hooked it back up, didn't fix anything, but could have that created any problems? (It was unhooked for at least 100 miles until i noticed it, and it was unhooked by me when installing my sub and amp a week ago)

2005 town and country dash lights flickering?

our town and country minivans dash lights are flickering. in addition, on occasion, the radio will turn off, the speedometer and tach needles will act irratic, and the check engine light will flash on in addition to the chime going off. this happen within a couple seconds. any ideas?
the engine does not die when any of these happens.

have the alternator checked. it sounds like maybe the voltage regulator is sticking.
