How do you delete a PS3 user but not the PSN?

So my friend came over and made another user on my PS3 so he can play Modern Warfare 2 on his PSN account. When he was done, he told me I can delete the user or keep it on the console. I want to delete the user but not his PSN. What do I do?

I never cared for Microsoft much so I never got an xbox. But now that all the good games are for the 360 and ps3 I have to choose one. I've decided on a 360 but now have to choose between the original and the slim. I don't care about internet stuff or noise, which is what everyone is talking about, I want the one that will last. I'm low on money so I can't afford to buy a console and have it break the next day. Since I'm not oblivious, I know of the red ring of death and overheating issues. Some people say Microsoft fixed it in the slim, others say it's still there. Any ideas?

I was thinking about an XBOX Slim but i dont want to pay for Xbox live.

Questions;

1) Can PS3 slim fail like Xbox fails?
2) How long will the PS3 stay as the main console? (When is the next gen Ps4 coming out)
3) Is online play good for a normal gamer? Im not hardcore so i dont care about Xbox
4) Any problems / things i should know about

1. The PlayStation 3 failure rate was 10% according to a small 3rd party survey and less than 1% as confirmed by Sony. This is much better than the 54% according to the same survey and over 33% confirmed by Microsoft. The "Slim" models of both are both better than their originals in failure, but the new Xbox 360 still has the same disc scratching and overheating issues as the first.

2. The PS3 will remain in the market longer than the PS2 currently is, which is ten years - the second longest lasting console in history so far, right behind the PSOne (13 years) and still going. Sony wants the PS3 to last much longer than any other so they packed it with "future proof" features like Blu-Ray and an easily upgradable hardware. Not to forget, it is easy for Sony to update the firmware of the PS3 to run just as well as future consoles and more! Out of the Wii, PS3 and 360, the PS3 will last the longest.

3. Online play is fantastic for someone who isn't looking for a specific online service. It is free, has tons of features (a lot that you can't find on the 360) and much more. The service runs on dedicated servers compared to Xbox Live's P2P servers. Dedicated servers allow the developers to run the networks for their own games, which allows for a smoother experience.

4. There are really no big problems to worry about that get in the way of your playing. Not that I can think of at the moment.
