I have a Behringer Xenyx 1204 mixer and it only has 4 mic inputs, so could i buy another mixer with like 2 or 4 mic inputs and connect the two mixers together to use all the mic inputs so i could record drums?

I'm just recording drums and stuff so i have 2 (very bad quality) mics. One as an overhead and one for my bass. And i want to record them at the same time and mix the clips together. What's some good (preferably free) downloadable software that'll let me do that? I've already tried "Acoustica Mp3 Audio Mixer" and it's terrible so i'm looking for something else.
Simple ones are fine. Even better actually.
Thanks
I use Audacity in my studio, have for years. It's great for editing, combining and overlaying multiple tracks.

If you just want to do some basic mixing, Audacity is indeed a good choice. If you want to do more complicated stuff, Ardour (http://www.ardour.org) is a nice package for a recording workstation.

It might sound a little stupid, but I am a 16 year old high schooler who wan'ts to start a hobby in music. I have looked up information on what i need to get, but it all sounds so complicated and very expensive. Any tips on what I should do/buy? I also have a 13" macbook pro along with turntables and a mixer. Also, is the Rode NT1-A worth it? I get $20 a week.

Hello everyone. I am on the verge of buying either a DJM-800 or a CDJ-2000 and im not sure which one i should get first. I have a older crappy mixer (Numark 950USB) i have been using with Traktor Pro for a while now and i have maxed out my capability with this equipment. So being i have been saving for a new set up already, and my birthday is coming up, i was looking into getting the bran new CDJ-2000. Only thing is i will have to save another 3 weeks after my birthday which is already at the end of august. So Im not just not sure if i should continue saving for the cdj-2000 and buy it, then work on saving for the DJM 800 or if i should do it vise versa. In my mind its smarter to buy the mixer first because i will get a lot of use out of it right away. But knowing how i think, i may not want to save for the CDJ2000 after i get the mixer. So im now in the spot of, should i get the djm first or just save for the cdj or should i get the cdj first and save for the djm?
So im here asking you, the people of the world; Whats your advice. What would you do if you were in my shoes.
And please be positive people. Dont go off and call me "rich" or "spoiled". I am paying for all this with pretty much my whole paycheck every week. I get paid $165 a week and $150 of that is going to this. I am very passionate about DJing and want to move forward with it through college.
Any advice helps :)

Others on vent claim I have major static when talking on vent. However, when I tried listening to myself through other recording devices such as Sound Recorder and Audacity, I sound fine - no static.
The headset I'm using is Logitech, which was purchased about 4 months ago. (The mic was working fine before, but I just installed Win7 about a week or two ago. This was when the static occurred, I'm assuming.)
I checked my vent setup --
Output device : Speakers (Logitech USB Headset)
Input device : Microphone (Logitech USB Headset)
Hardware input mixer : Mixer [None]
Does anyone know how to fix this, or have any idea of what went wrong? :[
